Problem 1046

A company purchased 10000 pairs of mans slacks for 18.96 per pair and marked them up22.53. What was the selling price of each pair of slacks? Use the formula S = C + M.

Solution:-

In the given formula, C is cost, M is the market, and S is the selling price of each pair of slacks.

So, we replace C in the formula with the number 18.96.

Replace M in the formula with the number 22.53.

Write the formula. Substitute know values for C and  M.

S = C + M

S = 18.96 + 22.53

Add to obtain the final answer.

S = 41.49

Therefore, the selling price of each pair of slacks is $41.49.
