Problem 427

Find the five-number summary of the following set of numbers.

0.16, 0.08, 0.27, 0.20, 0.22, 0.32, 0.25, 0.18, 0.28, 0.27

Solution:-

First arrange the values in ascending order which is given bellow

0.08, 0.16, 0.18, 0.20, 0.22, 0.25, 0.27,0.27,0.28, 0.32

Low=0.08

Q1=0.18

When terms are  even then Medain=average of (\frac{n}{2})th term and [(\frac{n}{2}))+1]  th term

N=number of terms

Medain=[(\frac{10}{2}))+(\frac{10}{2}))+1]=5 th term+6 th term

5 th term is 0.22

6 th term is 0.25

So medain=\frac{(0.22+0.25)}{2})=\frac{0.47}{2}=0.235

Q3=0.27

High=0.32
