Problem 2002

Assume that SAT scores are normally distributed with mean 1518 and standard deviation 325. If one SAT score is randomly selected, find the probability that it is greater than 1600.

Solution:-

z = \frac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

=\frac{1600 - 1518}{325}

=0.25

P(z > 0.25) = 1 – 0.5987

=0.4013
