The letters x and y represent rectangular coordinates. Write the following equation using polar coordinates (r, θ).

$x^{2}+y^{2}=1$

Solution:-

x = r * cosθ

y = r * sinθ

give the equation x^2 +y^2 = 1

put the x and y value

$rcos^{2}\theta + r sin^{2}\theta =1$

$r^{2}(cos^{2}\theta + sin^{2}\theta) =1$

$r^{2}$ = 1
