Give the dimensions of rectangles MNOP and XYTZ so that both are similar to rectangle ABCD.

Solution

For rectangle ABCD and MNOP

$\frac{6}{16} = \frac{MP}{8}$

MP = $\frac{6*8}{16}$

MP = 3

For rectangle ABCD and XYTZ

$\frac{6}{16} = \frac{9}{ZT}$

ZT = $\frac{9*16}{6}$

ZT = 24
