Problem 1123

Write the standard form equation of a circle with a center at (-3, 4) and a radius of 4.

Solution:-

Substitute the coordinates and write in standard form:

(x -h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2

So the equation is

=> (x +3)2 + (y – 4)2 = 42

=> (x +3)2 + (y – 4)2 = 16

Problem 484

Write the equation of a circle with a center at (-4, 2) and a radius of 5.

Solution:-

Use the general formula (x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2

Where (h , k) center of the circle and r is radius .

(x + 4)2 + (y – 2)2 = 25

Problem 483

Write the equation of a circle with a center at (-2, -5) and a radius of 6.5.

Solution:-

Use the general formula (x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2.

Where (h, k) are the center and r = radius.

(x + 2)2 + (y + 5)2 = 42.25
